Make images appear together

VideoScribe will display one image at a time, following your timeline. However, there are techniques you can use to make the images in your project appear together...

Option 1. Images appear together without being drawn

  • In this method, we are going to show you how to set a number of images to appear together on the canvas together instantaneously without being drawn.
  • Step 1. Arrange the images you want to appear together into one camera view. Make sure they are all selected (A) and then set the camera position so they are drawn in that position (B).

Step 2. Select the first image in the group and go to the properties of that image (C).

  • From here amend the animate, pause and transition times to 0.0s (D). Click the tick to save these changes (E).
  • Repeat Step 2 for the other images you would like to appear at the same time.

Step 3. The last image of the group that you would like to appear together only needs the animate time set to 0.0s (F).

  • You can leave some pause and transition time in place (G). Again click the tick to save these changes (H)
  • The reason you leave the pause and transition in place on the last image is to allow for a pause in the video before the next images to appear together are shown.
  • That’s it. Now all the images in this group will be drawn in 0.0s and have no pause or transition to the next image so will appear together instantaneously on the canvas.

Option 2. Images appear together and are drawn

In this method, we are going to show you how to set a number of images to be drawn together on the canvas with no break between one image ending and the other starting.

Step 1. Arrange the images you want to appear together into one camera view.

  • Make sure they are all selected (A) and then set the camera position so they are drawn in that position (B)

Step 2. Select the first image in the group and go to the properties of that image (C).

  • From here amend the pause and transition times to 0.0s (D) but leave the animate time in place. Click the tick to save these changes (E).
  • Repeat step 2 for the other images you would like to appear at the same time apart from the last element. No changes are needed to the last element in the group.

  • The reason you leave the pause and transition in place on the last image is to allow for a pause in the video before the next images to appear together are shown.
  • That’s it. Now all the images in this group will be drawn in the specified time. However, they have no pause or transition to the next image so the next image will start to be drawn straight away.

Option 3. Export and combine multiple images into one image

To give you even more control over the way images appear together you can export an image from VideoScribe and combine them into one image using an SVG image editor like Inkscape or Illustrator.

Step 1. Add the images you wish to combine to the VideoScribe Canvas.

  • Right-click on an image and pick Export to SVG (A). This will open an explorer window (Windows) or finder window (Mac) and you can choose where you want to save the image.
  • Repeat Step 1 until all of the images you wish to combine have been individually exported.

Step 2. Open your SVG image editor (In this example we have used Inkscape) and import each of the exported images and arrange them.

  • Save this as an SVG image using the File > Save As menu within the SVG editing software.

  • Follow the import image process within VideoScribe to import this new single image into your project.

Please note: under VideoScribe's terms and conditions you can only use the edited image within the VideoScribe application
